CSK Vs MI 26/05/2013 Results and Statistical Highlights
Looking at the preview of the match, Chennai Super Kings had already won the Indian Premier League twice while the Mumbai Indians were waiting to win the title for the first time, these two factors made this match a perfect Sunday Night Entertainer. Lets now take a closer look at the Batting and Bowling Performance Reviews along with the results of the match that took place on Sunday Night.
MI Batting
When the Mumbai Indians came into bat they started off very badly as they lost early wickets but a partnership between Dinesh Karthik and Ambati Rayudu brought them back into the game as they gave the team a little bit of a momentum. Kieron Pollard, who was the best highlights of their innings scored 60 Runs which helped them boost their target to 148 for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 Overs.
CSK Bowling
Chennai Super Kings Bowling was excellent as they bowled the right line and length and ensured that they picked up regular wickets and contained the batsmen quite well, The best highlights of their bowling was Dwayne Bravo who picked up 4 Wickets and bowled superbly well but the total they were looking to chase was a high considering it was a final.
CSK Batting
When the Chennai Super Kings came into bat their start was worst of the season as they were at a score of 39 for the loss of 6 wickets at one stage. They could never get any partnerships and kept losing regular wickets because of some very ordinary shots they hit. MS Dhoni for some reason came into bat way down the order and there was one last hope left for them when he had a partnership with Albie Morkel, However after Morkel's wicket fell it looked to go downhill for them as they reached a score of 67/8 at one point with Dhoni and Ashwin at the crease but after Ashwin's wicket fell things went out of hand for them as they lost the match.
MI Bowling
Mumbai Indians bowled exceptionally well as they picked up regular wickets and never let the Chennai Super Kings get away, they picked up wickets right from the first over until the end of the match which never allowed the men in yellow to recover. The best highlights of their bowling was Lasith Malinga who picked up 2 Wickets.
