The 67th IPL6 T20 match was not as important to the Delhi Daredevils as it was for the Kings XI Punjab who were looking for a spot in the playoffs. The match was expected to showcase both the teams going all out at each other with one looking for a playoffs spot while other looking for some pride. Lets now take a closer look at the batting and bowling performance reviews along with the results of the match that took place on 16/05/2013.
KXIP Batting
The Kings XI Punjab Batsman followed some good form after they played well against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Adam Gilchrist, Shaun Marsh and David Miller were the best highlights of their innings as they did quite well against some decent bowling by the Delhi Daredevils today. They made a score of 42,45 and 44 Runs respectively.
DD Bowling
Delhi Daredevils all round form has been very poor throughout the tournament but they bowled well in patches today especially the last over where Ashish Nehra gave away only 6 Runs. He bowled exceptionally well as he picked up 2 wickets. All the other bowlers especially Siddarth Kaul were quite expensive.
DD Batting
Delhi Daredevils had the worst possible start once again today as they lost 3 wickets quite cheaply. Virender Sehwag didn't come to open today as it was Unmukt Chand who was accompanying Mahela Jayawardene, After Chand's wicket fell it was Irfan Pathan who came in and after his wicket fell it was David Warner, It was only after Warner that Virender Sehwag came into bat. I have no clue why they went through these many changes as they lost early wickets anyway. Sehwag showed some form by making a quickfire 30 which was not good enough as they lost the match again despite Ben Rohrer and Morne Morkel's heroics towards the end.
KXIP Bowling
Kings XI Punjab bowling was top class as they analyzed the pitch quite well and bowled at the right areas. All their bowlers contributed for another comprehensive victory over the Delhi daredevils. Sandeep Sharma, Praveen Kumar and Parvinder Awana were once again impressive as they helped them win the match by a long margin.
