MI Vs KKR 07/05/2013 - Results,Review and Statistical Highlights
The match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders was set to be a cracker as MI had won all their 5 games at their homeground and on the other hand this was a must win game for KKR if they were looking for a spot at the playoffs.Lets now take a closer look at the Batting and Bowling Performance Review of each teams on 07/05/2013.
MI Batting
Mumbai Indians batting started off very slow but gained momentum towards the mid and end part of the innings.Sachin Tendulkar played superbly when he was at the crease as he had a steady opening partnership with his West Indian Partner Dwayne Smith. They exploited the Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers very well towards the end to post a somewhat stiff target.
KKR Bowling
It was good to see L Balaji bowl exceeding well during the start but apart from him the other Kolkata Knight bowlers gave away a lot of runs to the Mumbai Indians batsman which ended up making it easy for them to accelerate towards the end.I cannot understand why Gautam Gambhir didn't complete Balaji's quota of overs and instead gave Ryan McLaren the last over as he ended up giving 23+ runs in the last over.Balaji on the other hand gave away only 7 Runs in 3 Overs.
KKR Batting
When the Kolkata Knight Riders came into bat they lost the wicket of Gautam Gambhir early which was followed by them loosing regular wickets as the Mumbai Indians bowling looked hostile. The Highlights of their batting was Jacques Kallis who made 24 Runs.
MI Bowling
The Mumbai Indians Bowling was on target as they bowled the right line and length and picked up regular wickets which never let the Kolkata Knight Riders off the hook, this was a must win game for the men from Eden Gardens but since they ended up on the losing side their chances of a playoff berth now looks impossible.I enjoyed watching the match but was a bit disappointed as it ended up being one sided.
