The match on 17/06/2013 was very important for both Sri Lanka and Australia as a lot depended on its outcome.  While the task was easy for Sri Lanka as they just needed a win, it was a lot tougher for Australia who had to improve their run rate along with making sure the results were in their favor.  Lets now take a closer look at the batting and bowling performance reviews of each teams as it happened today.

Australia's bowling on 17/06/2013 was pretty decent throughout as they didn't leak away too many runs and picked up regular wickets, but there was one wicket which really tormented them, the wicket of Mahela Jayawardene.  Mitchell Johnson was the best highlights of their bowling today as he picked up 3 wickets and he was supported well by all the bowlers as they knew how important it was for them to ensure the results of the game went their way in quick time today.
When Australia came into bat on 17/06/2013 they were under massive pressure to score 254 of 29.1 overs to win the match and qualify for the semi finals, but the way it has been throughout the Tournament for the Aussies, they failed once again and couldn't really threaten thee target despite some useful knocks by Glen Maxwell and Matthew Wade who made a score of 32 and 37 respectively.  The best highlights of their innings however was Adam Voges who scored 49 but was still unable to pull the results in their  favor.

Sri Lanka Batting and Bowling

After watching their last match on 13/06/2013, i would say Sri Lanka's batting was pretty mediocre as none of their batsmen were able to really make big runs.  Mahela Jayawadene batted well along with Lahiru Thirimanne as they were the best highlights of their innings scoring 84 and 57 runs respectively as they boosted their score to 253/8, the target had to be chased down in 29.1 overs if the Aussies were looking for a semi final birth.

Sri Lanka's bowling on 17/06/2013 was pretty decent as they stuck to the basics and ensured they didn't give away any easy runs to Australia.  They couldn't quite get onto the top of the group A table but managed to win the match none the less to qualify for the Semi Finals.  The best highlights of their bowling who really ensured the results went their way were Nuwan Kulasekara and Rangana Herath who picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Sri Lanka will now face India in the Semi finals which will be held on 20/06/2013
