Statistical Highlights
India and Australia were coming into this match after winning their earlier warm-up matches, Since the Champions Trophy is just a couple of days away this was a very important match for the Indians as they will be a part of the first match against South Africa scheduled to take place on Thursday. Lets take a closer look at Batting and Bowling Performance Reviews of each teams as it happened today (04/06/2013.)
India Batting and Bowling
India's batting on 04/06/2013 was very disappointing to start with as they were at a score of 39/4 at the ten over mark. Murali Vijay, Shikar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina failed to impress but Dinesh Karthik once again came good as he made another brilliant century as he made a score of 146 (140) and remained not out. His partnership with MS Dhoni really brought the Indians back into the match as together they scored in excess of 200 runs to help their team reach a score of 308 which was a tremendous recovery considering they were at a score of 55/5 at one stage and the results looked to be very much in favor of the Aussies.
Indian bowling was excellent throughout as they ensured they picked up regular wickets and gave absolutely nothing away to the Aussie batsmen, The best Highlights of their bowling innings was Umesh Yadav who picked up 5 Wickets and he was well supported by Ishant Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. They bowled out the Aussies for 65 to pull the results in their favor and won the match comfortably.
Australia Bowling and Batting
Australia's bowling on 04/06/2013 was very impressive to start with as they picked up regular wickets and had the Indians reeling at one stage at a score of 55/5 but when Dinesh Karthik and MS Dhoni came together for a partnership they had absolutely no answer as they leaked away a lot of runs in the mid and the last part of the innings. The best highlights of their bowling was Clint McKay who was pretty economical as he picked up 2 wickets. The amount of runs the Indians ended up with it looked as though the results of their victory might have been slipping away from them.
Australia's batting was disappointing throughout as they got no momentum in their innings, their over dependence on Shane Watson was once again Evident as since he failed today there were no other Aussie batsmen who were able to really even reach close to the target.
