Statistical Highlights
This match was very important for both the teams as they had lost their previous matches and therefore needed a win to stay alive in the tournament. South Africa were a bit in the backfoot as they didn't have Morne Morkel or Dale Steyn Bowling while Pakistan was going with an all out attack but had a few concerns about their batting. South Africa Batting and Bowling
South Africa Batting on 10/06/2013 started off very cautiously as they were looking to keep wickets for a later onslaught. Hashim Amla played exceptionally well to a certain extent and held the innings together but after his wicket they kept losing wickets at vital times which didn't help them achieve a threatening target as they ended their innings at a score of 234/9. The best highlights of their innings was Amla who scored 81 Runs. The results of the match looked to be in a balance as it all depended on how they bowled later on.
Proteas bowling was absolutely superb they kept the pressure on the Pakistani Batsmen right from ball one and never let them get away, there was no particular bowler in their team who didn't perform well as almost all of them either picked up a wicket or contained the batsmen very well.
Pakistan Bowling and Batting
Pakistan bowling on 10/06/2013 was once again exceptional as they picked up wickets regularly and never let the Proteas get away. At one stage it looked as though the proteas might end up making a score in excess of 250 but they ended up falling well short. The best highlights of the Pakistani bowling were Mohammed Irfan, Junaid Khan, Mohammed Hafeez, Saeed Ajmal and Shoaib Malik who picked up a wicket each. There were four wickets that fell as run outs.
The Pakistani Batsmen had a very nervous start as they lost early wickets, Despite Misbah Ul Haq and Nasir Jamshed having a good partnership they were very slow with their batting which resulted in their downfall as the results ended going in the favor of the Proteas. The best highlights of their batting was Misbah Ul Haq who made a score of 55.
