WWE Smackdown 05/07/2013 - Results, Review and Analysis
World Wrestling Entertainment's Friday Night Smackdown that is expected to air on 05/07/2013 but was taped on Tuesday Night kicked off with CM Punk talking about how he and Curtis Axel beat The Prime Time Players at Raw. Punk claimed that he would be the winner of the ladder match at the Money in the Bank Pay Per View as he promised to win back his WWE Title. He further spoke about Brock Lesnar before he was interrupted by Alberto Del Rio who asked Punk to leave his show. Punk trash talked about Del Rio a bit before Teddy Long came out towards the stage and announced Punk Vs Del Rio as the main event of the night. A backstage segment then followed where Punk and Paul Heyman were in two minds if Punk could actually face Del Rio later on. Heyman showed his desire to be at ringside during Punk's ladder match at the upcoming PPV but his wishes were denied.
Damien Sandow came out to the ring but was beaten up quite comfortably by The Usos. Post Match, The Shield came back into existence through the big screen and promised that they would bring justice tot he Usos at the Pay Per View.
A match between Alicia fox and Kaitlyn saw Fox defeating Kaitlyn as she was distracted by AJ Lee who came towards the ring and skipped around. Backstage, Kaitlyn chased AJ but she eventually ran away after which The Bella Twins along with Big E Langston made fun of Kaitlyn.
The next match of the night was set to take place between Randy Orton and Christian. In what was one of the best matches of the night Randy Orton eventually turned the tides in his favor when he planted an RKO on Christian to attain an easy victory.
Backstage, Teddy Long confirmed that Heyman would be on commentary during the Punk-Del Rio match.
Dolph Ziggler then came out to the ring and cut a promo post which he defeated Drew McIntyre. 3MB attacked Ziggler post match but he managed to escape.
The last match of the night was set to take place between Alberto Del Rio Vs CM Punk, the match ended in a double count out, however Punk managed to plant a GTS on Del Rio before the show went off air.
