American Idol 08/05/2013 Recap and Review

American Idol 08/05/2013 started with three girls left after Amber Holcomb made an emotional exit from this reality Singing Talent Competition last week.Kree Harrision, Candice Glover and Angie Miller were the three contenders who are still in the race to take away the crown this season.Read on for the complete Recap and Review of the episode that aired on Wednesday Night.

American Idol 08/05/2013 - Recap and Review

American Idol started with Kree Harrison,Candice Glover and Angie Miller having an emotional reunion with their families and a trip down memory lane as they visited their elementary schools and past places of employment.If that was not enough these beautiful girls also got a chance to perform a show for their hometown crowd.

Each judge on Wednesday night looked to be emotionally attached to the contestants as we saw Nicki Minaj in tears,Jimmy Lovine getting Choked up and Mariah Carey looking moved.Carey said to Glover "I feel like i went home with you"

Keeping all the emotions aside lets now get to the business end of the show and take a look at the performance reviews of each contestants along with the recap of their performances.

Performances Recap

Each singer was given three songs to sing which included one from Lovine,one from the judges and another from the producers.All the singers worked hard to impress the Judges but Glover was the best of the lot at the American Idol that aired on 08/05/2013.

American Idol 08/05/2013 - Round One (Jimmy Lovine's Choice) Recap

Kree Harrison was given the task of singing the song "Perfect" by Pink to put her a little out of her comfort zone as she is known to be a country singer.Her singing was lovely but something seemed to be missing throughout.

Judges Reaction

Keith Urban: "For my ear,you are a country girl.No matter what song you sing,you have a strong signature song" 

Nicki Minaj: "You went back to your easygoing kreedom feel." 

Randy Jackson "You Sounded good,but it didn't have a lot of pizzazz.it was a little flat for me." 

Mariah Carey "You could have gone further." 

Candice Glover was given the task of singing the song "One" by U2.Glover's powerful performance ended with the judges giving her a very well deserved appreciation.

Judges Reaction

Nicki Minaj: "You did that Justice.The competition just started"

Randy Jackson: "I think the third time is going to be a charm for you"

Mariah Carey: "I Sense you weren't happy with the song.I was with your.We felt it"

Keith Urban: "I love that you have much power." and also added "You got sharp in few spots."

Lovine felt she missed out on a few key moments during the song.

Angie Miller was given a song "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" by Elton John which required her to get back to her favorite instrument "The Piano" but this time she decided to choose against it.

Judges Reaction

Randy Jackson wanted to know if Miller's performance without a piano was a tough thing to which she responded by saying that she felt she couldn't learn to play it that quick.

Mariah Carey: "I felt this was one of the best performances i have seen you do"

Keith Urban: "I would have been happy with you holding back even more"

Nicki Minaj: "I Love how you look tonight.This was a stellar vocal,but you clearly are bringing it to win this competition."

Lovine claimed her performance did a stellar job but she could have used the piano.

American Idol 08/05/2013 - Round Two (Judges Choice) Recap

Candice Glover

Candice Glover was given the song "Next to Me" by Emile Sande.This was a perfect choice for Glover as it was bound to compliment her voice.As expected she once again went all out and performed brilliantly.

Judges Reaction

Keith Urban: "Those Opening Lyrics are straight-up clear confession about your man.It was a conversation.At the end you were in the zone melodically riffing.It was good"

Nicki Minaj: "I am so proud of you.Congratulations."

Randy Jackson: "That was Amazing.It shows people how you can be in the modern world today."

Lovine disagreeing to the comments stated that the song was a little too subtle for her.

Angie Miller

Angie Miller was given a task of singing "Try" by Pink.Angie went ahead and rocked the performance as he made a statement to her fellow contestants that she was not here to mess around.

Judges Reaction

Keith Urban: "For me you have never looked so comfortable.Boston Strong,baby!"

Nicki Minaj: "You Believed every single word.You are Miley Cyrus' long lost twin."

Randy Jackson: "This song fit you like a glove.You sounded amazing."

Mariah Carey: "You performed like never before.The song has a rock feeling.You really found her place at home,and it's on the stage."

Kree Harrision

The judges decided on the song "Here comes Goodbye" for Kree Harrision which was a perfect choice.She did quite well as she mixed emotions within the song and got a good appreciation.

Judges Reaction

Nicki Minaj: I don't think people realize how much strength you have to have to be this young and have no parents.You sang like a pro."

Randy Jackson: "You just sang your heart out.That was unbelievably beautiful."

Mariah Carey: "I am overwhelmed with emotion.I am so in awe of the purity of you when you sing."

Keith Urban: "That was the perfect song for you and you sang it so right."

American Idol 08/05/2013 - Round Three (Producers Choice) Recap

Angie Miller

During the Round Three of American Idol 08/05/2013, Angie Miller had to sing the song "Maybe." She returned to her roots this time as she used a piano and was admired by the judges.

Judges Reaction 

Randy Jackson: I think tonight you became a complete performer."

Mariah Carey: "The song is in a high key,and you sustained in your belting register for a long time."

Keith Urban: "You're finally in your groove.Next week sing a song under the piano."

Nicki Minaj: "You've come full circle.You are out of your head."

Kree Harrision

Kree Harrision had to sing the sing the song "Better Dig Two" by The Band perry during the American Idol 08/05/2013.Her performance was just about average considering Round two which the judges were able to spot.

Judges Reaction

Mariah Carey: "We see the wild side of Kree this evening.I love to feel the pain when you sing from your soul.I like the sorrow more than the anger."

Keith Urban: "I don't know that that's the place for you." 

Nicki Minaj:  "Whoever picked that for you should be stoned."

Randy Jackon: "It was too ordinary for you."

Candice Glover

The final performance of the night at American Idol 08/05/2013 was Candice Glover singing "Somewhere" from the west side story.She ended the show with a standing ovation because of her superb performance.

Judges Reaction

Keith Urban: "If you don't want to vote for Candice,call your doctor,you don't have a pulse."

Nicki Minaj: "See you next week."

Randy Jackon: "This is like a singing lesson."

Mariah Carey: "That was my parent's song and i got even more emotional.Thank you again for making me cry."

Watching the American Idol 08/05/2013 was a treat as all the singers sang upto their true potential.
