RCB Vs KXIP 14/05/2013 - Results, Review and Statistical Highlights

This match was important for both the teams as they needed these points to secure a spot in the playoffs. Kings XI Punjab had a tough chance of getting through but still had some hope left. Royal Challengers Bangalore on the other hand seemed to lose their way a little bit which made their chances a little tougher. Lets now take a closer look at the Batting and Bowling Performance Reviews along with the results of the match that took place on 14/05/2013.
Cricket

RCB Batting

Royal Challengers Bangalore batting was very slow during the first ten overs but they came back very strongly towards the mid and the end of the innings with Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle leading from the font as they made a score of 77 and 57 Runs respectively. They set in a very stiff target for the Kings XI Punjab to chase down but it was going to be a very interesting chase considering both the teams were desperate for a win.

KXIP Bowling

Kings XI Punjab bowling was absolutely top class for the first 15 overs after which they gave away a lot of runs which allowed Royal Challengers Bangalore to make a comeback. The best highlights of their bowling was Parvinder Awana who picked up three wickets. All other bowlers were quite expensive.

KXIP Batting

When the Kings XI Punjab came into bat they started off well in pursuit of a target which was very stiff, they had no option but to win the match today if they needed to see a miracle of them ending up as one of the top Four. Shaun Marsh and Adam Gilchrist didn't have a huge partnership but started off quite steadily but it was the partnership between Gilchrist and Azhar Mahmood that set the victory up for them as they won the match comfortably towards the end.

RCB Bowling

The Royal Challengers Bangalore today had Zaheer Khan and M Muralitharan in their side instead of Murali Karthik and Ravi Rampaul which i cannot understand why. Despite them setting a target of 175 they leaked away a lot of runs which ended in their downfall. The best highlights of their bowling was Zaheer Khan who i think bowled exceptionally as expected but other bowlers were too expensive.
