Read on for the Complete India Vs South Africa 06/06/2013 Results and Review along with the statistical Highlights of the match that took place today.
Statistical Highlights
South Africa didn't have Dale Steyn playing today which meant their bowling depended more on Morne Morkel, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Rory Kleinveldt and Ryan McLaren, India on the other hand left out Murali Vijay for Rohit Sharma, who was was expected to be the opening partner of Shikar Dhawan. Lets now take a closer look at the batting and bowling performance reviews of both the teams as it happened today.
India Batting and Bowling
India Started off cautiously with a new opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikar Dhawan, but once they saw off the new ball they batted exceeding well as they ended up having a partnership in excess of 100 runs, this gave a very good foundation for their remaining batsmen to really get some big runs. Eventually, they ended up with a score of 331 with Shikar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma being the best highlights of their innings as they made a score of 114 and 65 respectively. Ravindra Jadeja gave the perfect finishing touches to the innings as he scored 47 Runs just of 29 balls to help them have a strong hold on the results of the match.
India's bowling on 06/06/2013 was pretty good to start with as they picked up two early wickets but they gave away a lot of runs during the mid part of their innings as they had no answers to the brilliant partnership between Robin Peterson and AB De Villiers who looked like they might just win the match for the proteas, but after a brilliant run out of Peterson by Ravindra Jadeja they ensured they checked on the scoring rate and picked up regular wickets to win the match. The best highlights of India's bowling were Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma who picked up 2 wickets each to ensure the results stayed with them throughout.
South Africa Bowling and Batting
South Africa bowling was a mixed bag today as they started off well with the Morne Morkel's pace but once the Indian openers saw off the new ball their bowling looked pretty ordinary as they gave away a lot of Runs during the mid part of the innings. Towards the end of the innings however the Proteas bowling was excellent as they kept on picking up wickets which meant India ended around 10-15 Runs short of the target they would have expected at one stage. The best highlights of their bowling was Ryan McLaren who picked up three wickets, bad news for the proteas however was that Morne Morkel was injured when he was about to complete his 7th over which means that if he and Dale Steyn do not recover before the next match they might be missing a trick.
South Africa's batting was superb despite them losing a couple of early wickets. AB De Villiers and Robin Peterson batted superbly to ensure that they remained within the striking distance of the target but after their wickets fell things went downhill for them, The best highlights of their batting were De Villiers and Peterson who made a score of 70 and 68 Runs respectively but unfortunately that was not enough for them to pull the results in their favor.
