WWE Raw 22/07/2013 - Results, Review and Analysis

WWE Raw that aired on 22/07/2013 started with a recap of CM Punk and Paul Heyman's fallout and Brock Lesnar's return.  The show that aired from Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas officially kicked off when Brad Maddox was seen in the center of the ring as he spoke about the reason behind him allowing John Cena to pick his apponent for the upcoming PPV.  He also confirmed that there would be an official contract signing after which John Cena came out towards the ring.  To know more about what happened during the course of the episode, Read on for the complete WWE Raw 22/07/2013 Results along with a performance review and analysis of the show.

Moving on further during the contract signing on Raw 22/07/2013, Cena sat down while Maddox continued to speak.  Just as he asked Cena the reason behind him choosing Daniel Bryan as his opponent for the Summerslam Pay Per View, Out came Daniel Bryan.  Maddox then asked Cena if he thought that Bryan really deserved a title shot to which he responded by saying that a few people in charge were afraid to see how talented Bryan was and spoke about a few legends such as Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero as he claimed that they had passion for wrestling nad not size and strength.  Cena further said that Bryan was the best competitor for him right now but also claimed that after beating him he will show the world that even best against him was not enough. Bryan was just about to speak when Maddox interrupted him which upset him and he ended up yelling at Maddox who set Bryan up for multiple matches during the course of the night to prove his worth.

The first match of the night on 22/07/2013 was scheduled to take place between Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio.  The results of the match went in favor of Del Rio after he rolled through for a pin reversing a white noise.

Backstage at WWE Raw 22/07/2013, Renee Young was with Booker T and Teddy Long.  Booker confessed that he respected Vince McMahon's decision but was surprised with what the situation was turning out to be.  Long then interrupted him and claimed that he had taken a lot of abuse and run the show for 3 months at Smackdown while Booker T sat at home with his feet up and also said he was not happy with Vickie getting him ejected from the arena last week.  Booker T then threatened Long that he was going to throw Teddy out of the building this week as well.  Teddy then said that if Vince wasn't going to name him as a GM, he might have made the right decision after which he walked off.

The second match of the night was scheduled to take place between Christian and Titus O' Neil.  The results saw Christian emerge a winner when he countered a finisher off O'Neil and hit a killswitch for a win.

A recap of Smackdown was then shown where Ryback beat up Chris Jericho.  At WWE Raw, Ryback was backstage with Josh Matthews as he spoke about being against people who were average.  He claimed that he didn't like matthews and said that people needed to be intimidated by him and if they were not he will prove his worth to them.

A recap of The Shield's attack on Mark Henry was then shown from last week.  Henry said that he was a proud Texas, Born and raised but he was not proud of what happened last week.  He then called out the Shield and out came Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.

The Shield dominated over Henry once again.  Henry tried to fight back but was overpowered after which The Uso's came out for the save and together they cleaned house.

Backstage at WWE Raw 22/07/2013, Bryan was warming up when Cena walked in.  Cena wanted to know if someone else was making the decisions for Maddox to which Bryan responded by saying he will be fine on his own.  Cena then said he just wanted Bryan to be fine until their match.

The next match at WWE Raw as in between Darren Young and Dolph Ziggler.  Ziggler eventually emerged a winner after the results went in his favor, courtesy of a Zig Zag.

Post match results, Big E Langston with AJ Lee right behind him ran down and attacked Dolph while he was celebrating his win.  Ziggler managed to send Big E on the floor after which Langston got back in the ring but Ziggler ran out taunting them from the ramp in the process.

Next segment on 22/07/2013 involved The MizTV with The Bella Twins, Natalya, Cameron, Naomi, Eva Marie and Jo Jo Offerman.  

Miz introduced the Divas and passed on the Mic to Jerry Lawler.  Lawler knew all the Divas but introduced himself to Jo Jo and Eva Marie.  Eva didn't shake his hand as she didn't like the way lawler was looking at her.  She introduced herself and said she was here to make a name for herself and slapped lawler who passed on the Mic back to The Miz.

Brad Maddox was then seen on the Phone when Triple H walked in.  Triple H said that Maddox didn't think Bryan was a championship material and also further said it sounded as though someone put words in Brad's mouth as he referred to Vince McMahon.  HHH further claimed that he believed that Bryan might be the future of WWE.  Stephanie McMahon then appeared and said she had an idea but was not ready to share it yet after which she walked off leaving Maddox worried.

The results of the match between Fandango and Cody Rhodes on 22/07/2013 went in favor of Cody after he took out Fandango through a disaster kick post Sandow's interruption.

CM Punk's segment saw him speaking about Brock Lesnar's attack last week.  He claimed he was not afraid of Lesnar and spoke about his UFC days.  He also went on to further say that Heyman had made a wrong decision and proposed a match between himself and Lesnar at Summerslam after which he said he would not stop until Lesnar is gone.  Heyman who was present on the giant screen via satellite said he liked the idea and accepted the challenge.

The results of Rob Van Dam Vs Wade Barrett ended with RVD winning courtesy of a Five Star Frogsplash for the win.

What followed next at WWE Raw 22/07/2013 was a gauntlet match between Daniel Bryan and his opponents Jack Swagger, Antonio Cesaro and Ryback.

The Results of Bryan's match against Cesaro at WWE Raw went in his favor after he countered an uppercut mid-air and rolled up Cesaro for a win.  Against Jack Swagger he locked a yes lock for a win while his match against Ryback ended in a DQ in Bryan's favor after Ryback Powerbombed him through the table on the floor.

Post Match, Ryback looked to take out Bryan completely but was saved by John Cena who cleared the ring.  Cena then checked on Bryan and challenged Ryback to a tables match next week.  Backstage, Vince McMahon walked in Brad Maddox who bragged about next week's main event.  Vince then asked Maddox about Bryan to which maddox responded by saying that Bryan would face Kane next week as WWE Raw went off air.
